About

I'm so glad you’re here.

I look forward to learning more about your writing needs. But first, let me tell you a little bit about me.

I spent the first part of my professional life fighting to keep up with social convention, believing external success would create happiness.

Deep down I knew writing was my gift. But when I graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in Comparative Literature I failed to see how writing college papers and poetry could translate to a viable writing career. In my limited world view, becoming a journalist for the local newspaper or writing the next great novel felt like my only choices. Neither felt right.

After landing several temp jobs in healthcare and retail to make ends meet, I stumbled upon a nonprofit job bulletin. As a social justice warrior and empath, I lit up when I discovered shared values with many of the organizations I discovered. I jumped into the heart-centered work with enthusiasm, along the way doing additional volunteer work to deepen my understanding of the social and political issues so close to my heart.

To my delight, writing was a prominent feature of every job, giving me countless opportunities to continue honing my craft. Over the course of 23 years, writing has been the cornerstone of my success in roles ranging from marketing and communications, fundraising and program development to organizational leadership and consulting. I have used writing to communicate with diverse audiences, push forward new initiatives, create new programs, and win the support of even the fiercest critics.

Along the way I earned an MA in International Development from American University and have worked with organizations committed to international development, arts education, arts advocacy, social justice, environmental protection, business development, spiritual growth and more.

I love to write about my journey as a mother to Kyle and Ella, my two greatest teachers, and in 2022 was published in Boy Moms: Collective Tales of Mothers and Sons. I also post regularly about my parenting foibles on Facebook, am a Certified Soul Care Coach and regularly offer Women's Writing Circles to encourage exploration of the inner voice of wisdom through the medium of the written word.

I am married to a soul mate and education visionary. When I am not working to help my husband and children shine their brightest light, I love to deepen my spiritual practice through writing poetry, doing yoga, taking long morning walks, journaling, meditating, traveling and cooking delicious food for loved ones.

Speak Your Truth Out Loud

Voice has been a huge theme in my life and work and is something I've often struggled to find and use. The writing process has been a tremendous catalyst in my journey, helping me clarify my values and get comfortable speaking my  truths out loud. As a result of my own struggles, I am passionate about helping my clients make connections between vision, values, voice, and business focus using the written word as a vehicle. My number one focus with every client is to help you develop the right language to get your best work and highest vision out into the world.

Still not sure if I'm the writer for you? Check out some of my recent projects or my blog to see for yourself. Let's explore how we can partner to share your highest vision with the world.
